The 4 Phases of the Dukan Diet

low carb diet foodsIf you ever read a Dukan diet review, you will see that the greatest majority of the people have managed to lose weight successfully. This diet has 4 very well established phases that you must go through, if you want to lose weight effectively, and be able to keep that weight. Here they are:

The Attack phase- this is the most difficult part. It generally takes up to 10 days, in which you are not allowed to eat too much. You will loose weight quickly and get motivated to continue

The Cruise phase- if you have managed to go through the Attack phase, you definitely need back some of the nutrients, vitamins and minerals that you have lost.  Protein + vegetable days will be alternated with protein only days. You should make sure to eat plenty of vegetables, whether steamed in soups or raw in salads. The cruise phase of the Dukan diet is where you will “stagnate” up until you have reached the exact weight that you want. When you have reached ideal weight, it is time to step on to the next phase.

The consolidation phase- this is the time when you are the most vulnerable person. After so much dieting and watching what you actually put in your mouth, you could eat mountains of pasta, steaks and chocolate bars. However, the consolidation phase will allow you to eat “celebration food” (whatever your favorite food is), but you need to keep staying on your diet.

The stabilization food- now you have come far enough, and you have probably achieved the weight loss that you want. You just need to learn how to maintain those pounds from now on. It will not be easy, but once you went through all the Dukan diet phases successfully, you will most probably never have to be on a diet again. You will know how to control yourself and what low carb diet foods to eat in order to maintain your weight!
